Ever since she made her debut at the New Designers show in 1997, Sophie Cook's feet have barely touched the ground. Her order book was so full that she abandoned plans to move to Hong Kong and is now thoroughly immersed in her studio work. Her elegant, hand-thrown vessels, in a semi-translucent clay, emphasise form and line together with solid, vibrant colour giving a contemporary feel to a traditional craft and making a virtue of simplicity.
